Bitcoin’s annualized volatility has reached its lowest point since 2011, even as it leads all major assets in 2024 returns. ARK Invest responded with a $221.5 million increase in holdings, signaling deeper institutional confidence.

ARK Report Confirms Record-Low BTC Volatility

Bitcoin’s one-year rolling volatility has dropped below 50%, the lowest on record since tracking began. The trend was highlighted in ARK Invest’s Big Ideas 2025 report, which analyzes Bitcoin’s maturation alongside traditional assets. While temporary spikes were observed during 2018 and 2021, long-term volatility has trended lower. This decline aligns with rising liquidity and institutional trading volume, reducing extreme price swings. “Bitcoin’s volatility has fallen to an all-time low,” Cointelegraph stated in an update summarizing the findings.

ARK Invest Boosts Bitcoin Exposure After Positive Metrics

Bitcoin outperformed every major asset in 2024 with a 122.2% return, backed by robust Sharpe and Sortino ratios. In a report by ARK, the digital asset led across five risk-return metrics, including CAGR, annual return, and downside protection. The chart contrasted Bitcoin’s results against gold, equities, bonds, real estate, and emerging markets.

The announcement detailed ARK’s aggressive accumulation strategy in Q1 and Q2 2025. Custody of newly acquired BTC was confirmed via Coinbase transactions totaling 997 BTC on March 13. Additionally, ARK made follow-up purchases worth $130.2 million and $11.3 million in April, citing confidence in market stability and protocol resilience.

Bitcoin Price Holds $84K in Real-Time Market Recovery
